Twiga Foods had the opportunity to host a team of 90 students from the Imperial College Business School in London on Tuesday, September 27th, 2022 at our Tatu City Distribution Centre. The delegation was made up of business executives pursuing their Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) who wanted to learn how Twiga is using technology and modern supply chains to fix broken markets.

Our East Africa CEO – Yebeltal Getachew (YG), Chief Officer, Business Development and Innovation – Fiona Mungai, Chief Officer, Technology – Caine Wanjau and Chief Executive, Supply Chain Operations – Tim Broekhuizen hosted the team.

The delegation was also given a tour of our distribution facility by the Packhouse Operations Manager – Judy Muthoni, where they saw how the warehouse management system works and Habil Mumia – Logistics Manager on the steps and measures we take to ensure effective receiving of goods and distribution of orders to vendors throughout the market.

They also toured our banana ripening facility and were given a demonstration of how the process works to ensure the safe ripening of our fresh bananas for our vendors.

Twiga is working to build a modern supply chain that will serve as the back-office support for informal retailers, allowing them to access any product at the lowest possible cost and have it delivered right to their door within 24 hours of ordering.
